The recent Missouri Supreme
Court decision no longer requires an offender to register with law enforcement
if their conviction was prior to January 1, 1995. The Missouri Attorney
General's Office informed us that the information that has been collected is
still considered a public record and can be released to the public. The
information provide is all that the Cole County Sheriff's Department can release
to the public and cannot disclose if the registered offenders date of conviction
was prior to January 1, 1995.
